Purchasing Apple Computers at UNT |
|
Apple is a centrally-supported supplier of commercially-built desktop and notebook computers for UNT. Apple computers may be purchased from Apple's website; their option to "create a proposal for your school" is useful as a vendor quote. Update: The system configurations recommended by Distributed Computer Support Managers' Team are shown on the Apple Online Institutional store for UNT. [Follow the directions on the Apple website to find UNT and it will take you to the online store.] See the "Recommended Systems" link on the right side of the page. Since we are an authorized service center, we can cover UNT-owned Apples with parts only care which is less expensive that the complete AppleCare. The part numbers and prices for covering various models can be seen by clicking on the "Special Products" link immediately below "Recommended Systems." All Apple computer purchases for institutional use should include a 3-year hardware warranty (AppleCare). A 1-year warranty is the default, and this can be upgraded to a 3-year warranty during that first year. Since UNT participates in a centrally-funded Apple Maintenance Program (AMP) for Apple software maintenance/support, computer purchases need to include only the hardware warranty. The Microcomputer Maintenance shop is an authorized Apple service center for UNT-owned Apple desktop and notebook computers.
Apple Contacts for UNT: UNT students, faculty, and staff have access to Apple's educational purchase program for personal purchases as well.
